Movement Trays Comparison
In our store, you'll notice that we offer two different styles of movement trays for sale: classic and modern. If you purchased movement trays from us before, they have been in the classic style. Below is a comparison chart showing the differences with our movement trays.
Classic Movement Trays
Our classic formation trays feature two layers of acrylic with a lip between each miniature to help hold them in place. Perfect for non-magnetized miniatures, these trays do require assembly. We recommend G-S Hypo Cement for a clear finish, though super glue can also be used. These trays can be upgraded with Battle Disks to magnetize your models for added stability.
The bottom layer of acrylic features circular cutouts, ideal for inserting 1/16" thick neodymium magnets beneath the Battle Disks. This allows you to organize your models in ranked formation on another magnetic surface. In addition, the bottom acrylic layer features indents, for easy removal of the tray using a fingernail from any magnetic surface.
Modern Movement Trays
Our tight formation movement trays are smaller and feature a single layer of acrylic. Models need to be magnetized to use these trays and rank up in base-to-base contact to take advantage of special rules such as Shining Company. These trays are easy to assemble and require no glue. Battle Disks are included with these trays and they feature the same cutouts as our classic trays for inserting 1/16" thick neodymium magnets beneath the Battle Disks to store your models in ranked formation ready for battle.
So which trays are better for me?
It really depends on how you transport and store your models. If the models in your unit are not magnetized, than I would go with the classic movement trays. If all of the models in the unit are already magnetized, or if you need to take advantage of a special rule like Shining Company, I would recommend our tight formation movement trays.
Either way, you can't go wrong as our trays will help you store your models and move them across the battlefield more efficiently than ever before!
